Engineering news from India, each story with its source

EngiNewsIndia reports what is happening in Indian engineering and industry for the people who run and supply factories in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan: the owner of a machine shop, the purchase head of a plant, the dealer who sells them their machines. In English, every day.

How a story is made

Three parts, always in this order

  1. What happened. The fact, with the document it comes from linked in the first two sentences: the filing, the notification, the tender, the company's own statement. A story without a source does not run.
  2. Why it matters. Written for you, not for the company in the story: what it changes for a shop floor in western India, what it buys, what it opens.
  3. What happens next. A date, or a plain statement that none has been given. No stock tips, no forecasts of our own.

What we do not do

The rules we hold ourselves to

  • No unsourced claims. A figure without a document is left out.
  • No stock tips. A listed company's filing is reported as a filing.
  • No audience counts. We will say how many read us when the number is worth saying.
  • Paid content, if it ever runs, is labelled on the page and kept out of the news feed.
  • Advertisers buy your attention, not the copy.
